Untitled Document Consumer Information

Our role does NOT include giving legal advice, suggestions for what services to pursue or about interpretation of the Baker Act. However, we want people to feel free to contact us if they need ideas about who to contact for additional information. In some instances we may be able to help. Florida's state mental health entity is housed within the Florida Department of Children and Families. The state is divided into DCF districts or regions. Those needing guidance on services to pursue or how to otherwise pursue some of the options specified in the Baker Act (such as Baker act examination) may want to contact the DCF district/region for the appropriate county. A map of districts with district numbers are available here.

The Information about the Florida Statewide Advocacy Council may be found here. Their toll free numbers is 1-800-342-0825. The Statewide Advocacy Council addresses issues related to problems with services and violation of rights.
